The Island Penthouse 14

This was a great property. The view is goegeous, the unit is very spacious. The location was great for getting to entertainment. The kitchen was clean and well stocked. Parking was easy. My only wish was that the bathroom showerhead were cleaned better (they all had gunk in them and the main one had gunk around the part you hold as well). Everything else about this property was great. I will use again, I will probably bring some cleaning stuff fir the bathrooms to make it perfect for me and my family.

The furnishings were not in line with the price of the unit. Not enough dishes/pans. Mattresses and bedding was very poor. And there was only 1 king bed. The other was 2 beds pused together which is NOT a king.

The location was excellent. The beach at the resort is clean and not as crowded as typically found in Myrtle Beach. The pools were relaxing and there were plenty of chairs available. I also loved the ocean view each morning as I had my coffee. There are 4 nice beach chairs in the closet for use. On the flip side, there could be improvements made. If you plan to cook, be prepared for barebones in the kitchen. One towel for the kitchen was not sufficient. We also had to keep washing cups as there is only a handful. Bring tons of paper products and dollar tree kitchen towels! Don’t plan on using the pull out couch for sleeping. It was like sleeping on concrete. Realistically 6 adults can sleep comfortably. The main beds were comfortable Lastly, the slider to the deck was broken when we arrived. It was extremely heavy and difficult to open. The women were unable to open or close it without help each time. A repair man came day one and was not able to fix it then did not return. Overall, great location, great views. Condo is nice for 6 adults, but a few minor upgrades would go a long way for the guest experience and comfort.

Overall the location was good and place was okay.
There was a towel in the window bc there was a hole to the outside
The dishwasher had an inch of gross moldy water
There was a moldy spot near the bathroom shower
The cabinet handles were falling off
The hotel was different to us then others about us being in this room, they repeatedly stated they couldn’t help give amenities like pool towels, luggage carriers, room cleaning etc
There was one extra trash bag for a family of 7 staying an entire week
1 extra roll of toilet paper
For the cost I would absolutely not stay again.
Myrtle Beach however, I would definitely return.

Great location. The balcony view is spectacular. The amenities, including the pool and hot tub and the access to the beach were great. Towel service is included. The unit was very clean and spacious with comfortable bedding. The furniture and decor is a bit dated, but quite acceptable given the price range. I would definitely stay here again.

The place was very big and beautiful especially enough to fit 4 adults and 3 children! Plenty of bathrooms and the jetted tub is where I spent most my time due to being 8 months pregnant. I loved the lazy river especially for my little ones it was safe and only 3 feet and so was the kiddie pool for toddlers. My 3 year old enjoyed her time there most of all! The balcony was fully private, huge and the view was breathtaking and peaceful! Thank you for the stay my family had an amazing time!

We took our mommy to the beach and she had a great time. The view is amazing, living area was huge and has enough seating for everyone. We enjoyed the live music in the evenings and the pool and beach area. We will definitively be back, if you're trying to decide if this is the place for you, just book it, you will not be disappointed Ceiling fan needs to be cleaned, really dusty so we did not turn it on. The faucet in the kitchen needs to be tighten up, it was very loose.

We had a great stay at Island Vista. It was exactly what we expected and hoped for based on the listing and it was perfect for our two young families to share. The ocean view, balcony, beach and overall property were all amazing. We loved all the pool options and shallow depths for the kids and being able to grab food at the restaurant at lunch made things really easy. The furniture and beds were all great. It was really nice to have a full kitchen with everything we needed and three bathrooms for less sharing. We do agree with the previous review that both the dishwasher and dryer didn't work great but was still better than not having them! We liked that the condo was in a residential area nice for walks but still central for easy driving to everything we wanted. Would stay again for sure!

My family has been staying at Island Vista for several years now. Once we found this resort on VRBO, it is our go-to. This property absolutely lived up to our lofty expectations when renting on VRBO for Island Vista. Communication and check-in couldn't have been easier. Upon entering into the property, it was perfect. Exactly what we were expecting after looking at the listing. Wonderful and modern furnishings, spacious layout, and comfy beds were wonderful. I also really liked the fact that this property is at the very end of the hall. Being on the top floor, at the end of the hall means there is almost no foot traffic around your door so it's nice and private. I will always sing the praises of the Island Vista property and staff. It's simply our favorite place to stay at Myrtle Beach. We love the security and safety of this resort, and how wel the staff keeps up the property. It's our happy place! Thank you and we can't wait to return to this property!

Great location. Nice option of indoor/outdoor pool although in October, pools were nearly too cold to use. Nice option of hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor. Great access to beach that was not too crowded, 10 minute drive from Broadway at the Beach. Would recommend.

We live in Charleston, SC, and visit Myrtle Beach twice a year. We have stayed in many of the hotels and resorts. We have found the Island Vista to be the best one; the pool area and seating areas are good - the hot tubs warm, and the property is well maintained.
The restaurant is also good - especially the breakfast.
We enjoyed staying in this unit - the balcony was especially large. The three rooms were well-equipped, and everything was spotlessly clean. We will rent the same unit again the next time we visit. Well recommended.

Love the Island Vista. Stayed there for several years! Do feel like the room we stayed in needed some updating. Walls in need of paint, carpet is very stained, showers have alot of black gunk in the doors. Stove very dirty and not clean. For the rate it should be much nicer but overall everyone has a great time!

The front desk was rude to my husband when he asked for a cart to unload car. They told him that we rented from someone else and that they weren’t making any money off of us. They did not want to give us a cart. They finally did give us one. The dishwasher was filthy it had mold on the rotary blades and the silverware holder. The filter had never been cleaned. We cleaned the dishwasher so we could use it however it did not work very well. The sink faucet needs to be replaced in the kitchen. Other than these two things the stay was good. We made it thru Ian. The place is very nice and we enjoyed our visit

We have been visiting Myrtle Beach for over 10 years and have seen Island Vista many times while walking on the beach. This year we decided to book a room. We decided and this size room because our in-laws sometimes will stay with us. The room was incredibly spacious, I loved the full washer and dryer, and that every room had a bathroom. The space itself was very clean and had many kitchen necessities. Some of our favorite accessories were the Keurig coffee maker, a television in every room, the large kitchen table, and the soaking tub. We were very happy with our stay and look forward to staying there again.

The condo was nice, the location was great. However, we couldn’t use their pool towels…but we could use their pool? Wasn’t sure on the logic of that but our kids loved the pool options. One of the toilet kept running, we went down to talk to front desk and was told we couldn’t use their maintenance people. Other than that it was good.

Reviewer Comments: We were not disappointed with this penthouse condo, even though we have stayed at Island Vista before at a similar lower level condo and besides the higher view, this condo was the same size, we were thinking it would have been much bigger because it was a penthouse. There was plenty of room for our guests so I am not complaining. The condo needs updating. There are still phone jacks in the walls for old phones. The garbage can under the sink needs to have one of those smooth rollers installed for easier access. Other than that, just a refresh would be ideal, but as is, was a wonderful place to stay and enjoy Myrtle Beach and the surrounding area, but the cost should be reduced to align with the age of the condo.

Our penthouse unit was spacious and clean for 6 adults. Wonderful view from the balcony and entire condo had easy accessibility for adult in wheelchair. Everything was updated, beds were comfy, bathrooms clean, kitchen Nice, and customer service was fantastic! Loved the tiki bar (drinks pricey) and pools, lazy river, and hot tubs. Outdoor pools are in the shade by late afternoon. Short jaunt to the shore. It was our first trip to Myrtle Beach and we will be back. Great location-staff was amazing.

Positives: Property was very clean. The cleaning staff took longer than expected and we couldn’t get in our room until 3:30 BUT we totally didn’t mind with COVID. Area is perfect! The beach wasn’t crowed. It’s right between north Myrtle and south Myrtle. Gym was nice. All pools were nice. Tiki hut drinks are pricey BUT worth it in my opinion. Parking garage was tight but We made it work. Negatives: The ceiling fan in the living room isn’t the strongest. No ceiling fans in any of the rooms. Fine with me but a complaint from a family member. This unit is not owner by island vista so your room won’t be cleaned or stocked by their cleaning staff during your stay. That even means toilet paper. This was in the agreement but just an fyi. There is cooking pans crockpot BUT there wasn’t any baking sheets for biscuits ect. Keep in mind there is salt and pepper BUT that is it. No cooking spray, seasonings. Again we knew this but it’s just any FYI. Beautiful place! Great view! We would rent again!
